Jack got to bring an old linux machine home from the office to play with. After a while, he decided to set up an FTP server, so he installed vsftpd and got it all configured for root access. Or so he thought. For some reason, he can not get to his FTP server despite his every effort.
Another oddity Jack noticed was that his networking doesn't seem to be fully functional. He can ping IP's like 8.8.8.8 but he can't ping hostnames like google.com.
