The resident admin recently reclaimed a server from the data center and is
now trying to work with it at home. The only problem is that nothing is showing
up on the screen after it starts booting.
Please troubleshoot and fix the problems:
Fix the display issues at boot
Set the machine up so you can login locally again ( via tty* )
Also, user 'tom' is having troubles copying /backup.tar.gz to his home
directory.
